PATRICK

Patron of Ireland, engineers, missionaries, exiles, courage in foreign lands.

Saint Patrick was born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century. At age sixteen, he was captured by Irish raiders and enslaved in Ireland for six years, during which he deepened his Christian faith. After escaping, he returned to Britain but later felt called by God to bring Christianity to the Irish people. He was ordained a bishop and returned to Ireland as a missionary, where he preached, baptized, and established churches and monasteries across the island. His writings, especially his 'Confessio,' reveal his humility and deep trust in divine providence. Today, Catholics honor Saint Patrick as a model of missionary zeal, forgiveness, and perseverance in adversity. He is the patron saint of Ireland, engineers, missionaries, and exiles.
A PRAYER TO PATRICK

Heavenly Father, through the intercession of Saint Patrick, we ask for courage and faith to follow your call, even into difficult or unfamiliar places. Grant us the grace to forgive those who have wronged us, and to share the light of the Gospel with patience and love. May we, like Patrick, trust in your guidance and serve you with unwavering devotion. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
