JUDE THADDEUS

Patron of lost causes, desperate situations, the impossible, hopelessness, hospitals.

Saint Jude Thaddeus was one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, often distinguished from Judas Iscariot by the name Thaddeus. He is traditionally identified as the author of the New Testament Epistle of Jude. Following the Ascension, he preached the Gospel in regions such as Mesopotamia and Persia, where he is believed to have suffered martyrdom for his faith. His relics are venerated at Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome. For centuries, Catholics have turned to Saint Jude as a powerful intercessor in moments of extreme difficulty. He is invoked when situations appear desperate, hopeless, or utterly beyond human remedy, offering solace and hope to the faithful. His enduring role is to remind believers of God's compassion in even the most trying circumstances. Saint Jude is the patron saint of lost causes and desperate situations.
A PRAYER TO JUDE THADDEUS

Heavenly Father, in our moments of difficulty and despair, we turn to you through the intercession of your faithful apostle, Saint Jude. Grant us the grace to trust in your infinite mercy when all human hope seems lost. Through his prayers, may we find strength, clarity, and the peace that comes from surrendering our needs to your loving will. Help us to remember that with you, nothing is impossible. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
