GABRIEL THE ARCHANGEL

Patron of messengers, broadcasters, communications workers, good news, those who must deliver hard truths.

Gabriel the Archangel is a principal messenger of God, prominently featured in the Scriptures. In the Book of Daniel, he appears to interpret visions, and in the Gospel of Luke, he is sent to announce the births of John the Baptist and, most significantly, Jesus Christ to the Virgin Mary. This moment, known as the Annunciation, reveals the Incarnation and marks Gabriel's role as the herald of good news. The name Gabriel means 'God is my strength.' For Catholics, Gabriel is a model of faithful service and clear communication of God's will. He is venerated as a powerful intercessor for all who are tasked with conveying messages, whether joyful or difficult. His primary patronage is for messengers, broadcasters, and communications workers.
A PRAYER TO GABRIEL THE ARCHANGEL

Heavenly Father, who sent the Archangel Gabriel to announce the coming of Your Son, we ask for his intercession. Grant clarity and courage to all who bear messages, especially those who must communicate hard truths or share the Gospel. May they, like Gabriel, serve with fidelity and charity, trusting in Your strength. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
